Date for your diary: Introduction to Community Shares

Date for your diary: Introduction to Community Shares

Community shares can save local shops and pubs, finance renewable energy schemes, transform community facilities, support local food growing, fund new football clubs, restore heritage buildings, and build stronger, more vibrant and independent communities.

The Community Shares Wales project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund and delivered by the Wales Co-operative Centre, can support communities through the process of share issue, enabling them to develop local services and facilities at the heart of their communities.

This free event will provide attendees with a fantastic overview of the topic including:

  • Detailed information about the project and the support available to help you develop community share offers
  • An opportunity to hear from people who have been through the process and used community shares to invest in local initiatives
  • A chance to hear from social lenders offering match funding for community share schemes
  • A chance to discuss the support and advice groups need to develop a community share offer

In addition, we also have a limited number of appointments available for people who’d like a one-to-one chat with a Community Shares Wales advisor, to scope out whether community shares would be right for them.
