How do you account for savings in a project plan? How do you know if you have an effective team in place to deliver? During the first phase of Nesta’s Innovate to Save project, a series of pre-application support workshops are being offered to provide potential applicants with the skills to create stronger project proposals.
Innovate to Save pre-application workshops
Innovate to Save is a fund with a difference. Set up to support new ideas that have the potential to generate cashable savings for Welsh public services and improve the quality of service delivery, the £5m programme is both ambitious and innovative in its own right.
The programme places as much emphasis on providing the right support and tools to develop robust project proposals as it does the funds to allow organisations to achieve change. This is what sets it apart from other funds. Our approach allows organisations the space to determine whether or not their ideas will fly, and it will help organisations better understand the building blocks of successful service interventions and transformations. We are proud of the uniqueness of our approach and hope that the learning generated from running Innovate to Save will support future innovation funds to operate more effectively.
There are three phases to Innovate to Save:
- pre-application support, where we can support the development of new ideas into robust proposals
- research and development, where new ideas can be prototyped and tested
- implementation, where ideas that show the capacity to improve services and generate savings can be rolled out.
The pre-application phase is now live and runs until 23 May 2017. It is focused heavily on providing support to potential applicants, without restriction on who may attend. Under this phase we are offering a series of workshops to equip attendees with the skills to create stronger project proposals.
