Heritage Hub for Mid Wales being developed – ‘Digital meets cultural heritage’ #communities #digital #heritage #wales @HeritageHub4MidWales

Heritage Hub 4 Mid Wales

A digital heritage hub is being developed by Heritage Hub 4 Mid Wales (https://www.facebook.com/pg/HeritageHub4MidWales/photos/?ref=page_internal).

The Heritage Hub 4 Wales vision, aspiration and purpose is to:

  • Champion young people’s creative ability to contribute positively to their communities and help strengthen their sense of belonging
  • Invest in disadvantaged communities’ capacity to overcome social, economic or environmental challenges
  • Build a reputation as a trusted co-operative enterprise with cooperation and collaboration, uniting with others to make sustainable impact in communities
  • Digital inclusion by supporting local voluntary groups to develop digital archives collections, archives are the assets that forge our community’s unique identity and sense of place“Newtown’s Heritage Hub” & “Robert Owen Birthplace Trust”

There’s a focus on ‘Digital meets cultural heritage’ and the big question being asked is ‘How can tourism destinations succeed in attracting tourists while simultaneously engaging all stakeholders in contributing to the preservation of natural and cultural heritage?’

Through the use of digital storytelling it is hoped that it would not only increase physical visitors to mid Wales but also virtual visitors. You can show your support through visiting their facebook page.
